Overview

Registered in 2005, 'Krinkle Twist' is a sport of a first-generation seedling of *Hosta* 'Dorothy Benedict'. It is visually distinctive for its large, nearly round, blue-green leaves with broad, yellow, slightly rippled margins, combined with a pronounced twist and deep corrugation across the entire leaf surface.

In the Garden

This large cultivar reaches 27 inches (68.6 cm) in height and spreads to 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, with an upright growth habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue-green leaf centers and gold margins hold their color well into autumn. The heavy-substance leaves and substantial size make it suitable as a specimen or accent in shaded borders, though its large dimensions preclude use in small containers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer deterrents are advisable, as hostas are susceptible to both.
