Overview
Registered in 2003 by P. & G. Lisik, 'Iva Delight' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Fortunei Hyacinthina' distinguished by its medium-green leaves with white margins and early-season brightness. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 7 inches (17.8 cm) long and 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) wide, display 9 to 11 vein pairs, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a dull underside with lightly wavy margins.
In the Garden
This medium-sized cultivar forms a mound 12 inches (30.5 cm) high and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, with scapes reaching 20 to 26 inches (50.8 to 66.0 cm). It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials. Its compact habit makes it suitable for border fronts or container plantings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing.
