Overview
Registered in 2003 as a sport of an unnamed parent, *Hosta* 'Crossroads Bling Bling' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its broad, blue‑green leaf margins framing a yellow to gold leaf center. The leaves are broadly ovate with cordate bases, moderately cupped and corrugated, and bear a glaucous bloom on both surfaces.
In the Garden
'Crossroads Bling Bling' forms a mound‑like clump 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall and 17 inches (43.2 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue‑green margins remain most intense. The substantial leaves and strong color contrast make it suitable for the middle of a shaded border or as a specimen in a woodland garden; its moderate size also suits larger containers. Companion plants include ferns, *Heuchera*, and other shade‑tolerant perennials with contrasting foliage textures.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry spells. Apply a balanced, slow‑release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Crossroads Bling Bling' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta‑growing zones.
