Overview

Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Hulkster' is a giant variegated cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Blue Umbrellas' as the pod parent. It is distinguished by its very shiny, dark green leaves with slightly rippled margins and a broadly ovate shape with a flat base, forming a large, fast-growing mound.

'Hulkster' reaches a mature diameter of 60 inches (152.4 cm) and a height of 32 inches (81.3 cm), with scapes rising 32 to 40 inches (81.3 to 101.6 cm). Its substantial size and vigorous growth rate make it suitable as a specimen plant or for filling large spaces in partial to full shade. The shiny, dark green foliage provides strong contrast when paired with lighter-leaved hostas or ferns.
