Overview

Registered in 2009 by K. Walek, 'Goldbrook Glimmer' is a sport of the widely grown *Hosta* 'Halcyon'. It is distinguished by its pale green leaf centers bordered by broad, blue-green to dark green, slightly rippled margins, a combination that creates a pronounced variegation pattern. The leaves are broadly ovate with cordate bases and exhibit a glaucous bloom on both surfaces.

In the Garden

This medium-sized hosta reaches approximately 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and spreads to 45 inches (114.3 cm) in diameter, with an upright, moderate growth habit. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant. Its substantial size and distinctive foliage make it an effective groundcover or accent among ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
