Registered in 2010 by P. & J. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Devon Desire' is a giant-sized cultivar derived from *Hosta montana* as the pod parent, with an unknown pollen parent. It is visually distinguished by its large, ovate green leaves with light green to yellow-green, slightly rippled margins, held in an upright, stately habit.

In the Garden

'Devon Desire' reaches a mature diameter of approximately 31.5 inches (80 cm) and a height of 16 inches (40.6 cm), making it suitable for mid-border or specimen placement in partial to full shade. Its upright growth and substantial foliage pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The plant is not suited for containers due to its giant size.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable for this cultivar in typical hosta-growing zones.
