Overview

Registered in 2013, *Hosta* 'Cosmic Lovin' is a large sport of a stable form of *H. 'Volleyball Fame'*. It is visually distinctive for its medium green, broadly ovate leaves with pure white margins ranging from 0.5 to 2 inches (1.3 to 5.1 cm) wide, a contrast that remains vibrant into autumn.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound 20 inches (50.8 cm) tall and 48 inches (121.9 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is best sited in partial to full shade, where its white-edged leaves brighten darker borders. The substantial size makes it suitable as a specimen or in the middle to back of mixed shade plantings; it pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other broad-leaved perennials. Its green scapes, reaching 33 to 39 inches (83.8 to 99.1 cm), bear lavender flowers in midsummer.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many large-leaved hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
