Overview

Registered in 1999, 'Clearfork Green' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its cordate leaves with light green margins and very shiny surfaces on both the upper and lower sides.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 21 inches (53.3 cm) in diameter and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and can be used as a groundcover or border specimen in woodland gardens. Its medium size and shiny foliage make it suitable for pairing with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Clearfork Green' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures should be considered in areas where these pests are prevalent.
