Registered in 2007, 'Backyard Monster' is a giant hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. Its distinctive appearance combines a medium green leaf surface with broad, creamy white margins that are slightly rippled, creating a bold variegated effect.

This cultivar reaches a mature spread of 42 inches (106.7 cm) and a height of 36 inches (91.4 cm), with scapes extending 36 to 40 inches (91.4 to 101.6 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade and is suited to typical hosta-growing zones. Its substantial size makes it effective as a specimen plant or as a backdrop for smaller perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes
