Overview
Registered in 2001 by an unknown breeder, this giant hosta cultivar is distinguished by its very shiny, lance-shaped leaves with medium green centers and unusually wide (0.75in/1.9cm) creamy white margins. The leaf surface is lightly corrugated with lightly wavy margins, and the undersides display a slight sheen.
In the Garden
Reaching 24in (61.0cm) in height and spreading to 44in (111.8cm) in diameter, this upright, fast-growing hosta forms a substantial clump suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its large, glossy foliage provides strong textural contrast when paired with ferns, astilbes, or fine-leaved perennials. The green scapes, rising 28 to 32in (71.1 to 81.3cm), bear typical lavender flowers in summer.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most large-leaved hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed preventatively.
