Registered in 2006 by an unknown breeder, 'Azure Frost' is a large, fast-growing hosta distinguished by its intensely blue-green, heavily corrugated leaves with slightly rippled margins. The broadly ovate, cordate-based foliage is notably rugose across the entire leaf surface, a trait that contributes to its reduced susceptibility to slug damage.

Reaching 24 inches (61 cm) in height and spreading to 60 inches (152 cm) in diameter, 'Azure Frost' forms an upright, substantial clump suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its large, textured leaves provide strong contrast when paired with fine-textured companions such as ferns or astilbes, and the plant's fast growth rate allows it to fill space quickly in woodland borders or shaded beds.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The heavy corrugation of the leaves naturally deters slugs, though deer may still browse the foliage.
