Alvatine Taylor

Hosta "Alvatine Taylor" review

Named by Nancy Minks as the Alex J. Summers Distinguished Merit Hosta 1998. Blue-green leaf w/gold-chartreuse margin, excellent substance; white flowers. Large heavy substanced  blue leaves with a chartreuse to gold margin, turning creamy white in the summer. White flowers. Large clump of pointed blue leaves with a gold border. White flowers in June. Great color and good substance. Ovate blue/green leaves, with chartreuse border. I fell in love with this one when I first saw it growing in the Minks' garden. The large leaves are dark grayish green and have an even yellow margin. The leaves have great substance. White flowers. This Eldrin Minks gem is a past winner of the prestigious Savory Shield Award, and is the heir-apparent to H 'Frances Williams' The broad-spreading clump to 40" wide is composed of elongated blue-green leaves with a bold, golden edge.. absolutely no "leaf burning" The stunning clumps are topped with white flowers on 4' tall scapes in early summer.. a distinctive new look in hostas! Large blue/green leaves and chartreuse margins, turning yellow. Near white flowers in June. Heavy texture.
