Overview
Registered in 2002, 'Zeus’ Fury' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar derived from *Hosta* 'Neat Splash' (pod parent) with an unknown pollen parent. It is visually distinctive for its dark green leaves bearing unstable streaks of medium green, greenish yellow, pale yellow, and creamy white, combined with slightly rippled creamy white margins that become more pronounced as the leaf corrugates with age.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a moderate-growing, mound-like clump reaching 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height and 33 inches (83.8 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical for variegated hostas, where the leaf coloration remains stable. Its medium size and brightly colored foliage make it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen among ferns, heucheras, or other shade perennials. The 24 to 30 inch (61.0 to 76.2 cm) scapes bear flowers typical of the genus; the scapes may be green or streaked.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new shoots emerge. Like most hostas, 'Zeus’ Fury' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage accordingly. It is hardy in typical hosta-growing zones.
