Hosta ‘Well Shaked’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered2009
Section classIV-7

Overview

Registered in 2009 as an open-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'Sea Prize', 'Well Shaked' is a small, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves streaked with greenish yellow and creamy white along flat, white margins. The streaking pattern is consistent throughout the clump and all divisions, and the plant is noted for its high fertility as a streaked breeder, with the trait reproducible in tissue culture.

In the Garden

'Well Shaked' forms a mound-like clump reaching approximately 22 inches (55.9 cm) in diameter and 12.6 inches (32.0 cm) in height. Its small size and broadly ovate, lightly corrugated leaves with cordate bases make it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with other small shade perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Well Shaked' may be susceptible to slug damage; monitor foliage and apply control measures if needed. Deer resistance is not documented for this cultivar.
