Overview

Registered in 2009 by an unknown breeder, *Hosta* 'Sublime Lime' is a small, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its chartreuse-lime leaves with greenish-yellow, heavily rippled margins. The ovate leaves, with cordate bases and 7 to 8 vein pairs, are thick, lightly folded, and deeply wavy, creating a frilly appearance.

In the Garden

This compact hosta forms a mound 13 inches (33.0 cm) high and 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or other small shade perennials. Mature plants produce over 30 upright scapes reaching 16 to 29 inches (40.6 to 73.7 cm), bearing light lavender flowers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. While slugs and deer may occasionally feed on the foliage, the thick leaf texture offers some resistance compared to thinner-leaved cultivars.
