Overview
Registered in 2012 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Oasis' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its intensely blue-green, heavily corrugated, nearly round leaves with flat margins. The foliage, which measures 8 inches long by 7 inches wide and displays 10 vein pairs, has a dull surface on both sides and forms a dense, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
Reaching 22 inches in height and 36 inches in diameter, 'Oasis' performs best in partial to full shade, where its blue-green coloration remains most intense. The moderate growth rate and compact, rounded form make it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shade gardens, pairing well with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials. Its 28-inch green scapes bear white flowers, adding late-season interest.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as both pests may damage the corrugated foliage.
