H. ‘Netzwerk’

Overview

Registered in 2016, 'Netzwerk' is a medium-sized sport of unknown origin, distinguished by its medium green leaves marked with yellow to white veins that create a reticulate, network-like pattern across the leaf surface. The leaves are 7.9 inches (20.1 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, with slightly rippled margins, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a dull underside.

In the Garden

'Netzwerk' reaches a mature diameter of 12 inches (30.5 cm) and a height of 9.8 inches (24.9 cm), making it suitable for the middle to front of a shaded border or woodland garden. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for most hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its compact size also makes it appropriate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
