Overview
Registered in 2010 as a sport of an unnamed parent, *Hosta* 'Electric Love' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its green leaves with white margins and white-striped veins. The foliage exhibits slightly rippled margins and a subtle sheen on both surfaces, with eight pairs of veins per leaf.
In the Garden
'Electric Love' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 23 inches (58.4 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its ovate leaves with rounded bases create a tidy groundcover effect. This cultivar pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials, and its medium size suits border fronts or container plantings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended for optimal foliage appearance.
