Overview
Registered in 1998 by N. Krul, this large hosta is a hybrid of *H.* 'Whoopie'. It is distinguished by its dark green leaves with broad, creamy white, slightly rippled margins, a cordate leaf base, and an upright, fast-growing habit.
In the Garden
*Hosta* 'Love of Life' forms a substantial clump reaching 54 inches (137.2 cm) in diameter and 25 inches (63.5 cm) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, where its variegated foliage remains stable. Its large size makes it suitable as a specimen or in the middle to back of a shaded border, paired with ferns or shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage the foliage; monitor and manage as needed.
