Registered in 1997, 'Lakeside Party Dress' is a small hosta cultivar of unknown parentage, selected from a Lakeside seedling. It is visually distinctive for its light green leaves with wide, creamy white, heavily rippled margins, and its compact, fast-growing mound form.

In the Garden

This small hosta forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 7.5 inches (19.1 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its small size makes it well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and other small shade perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges.
