Overview

Registered in 2005, *Hosta* 'Lakeside Dimpled Darling' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Dot Com' and forms a compact mound of bright green leaves with distinct white margins. The cultivar is visually distinguished by its small stature, elliptic leaves with a lightly flat surface, and a subtle sheen on both leaf surfaces.

In the Garden

This small hosta reaches approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height and spreads to 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of a shaded border, rock gardens, or as an edging plant. It thrives in partial to full shade and pairs well with other small perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or miniature hostas. Its compact size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation in typical hosta-growing zones.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
