Registered in 1995 by an unknown breeder, 'Lakeside Blue Jeans' is a large hosta cultivar distinguished by its intensely blue-green foliage and substantial leaf dimensions. The leaves are smooth-margined, cordate at the base, and measure up to 13 inches (33.0 cm) long by 9 inches (22.9 cm) wide, with 17 pairs of veins and a dull finish on both surfaces.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches a mature spread of 64 inches (162.6 cm) and a height of 24 inches (61.0 cm), with a semi-upright growth habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its blue-green leaves pair well with yellow- or gold-foliaged companions such as *Hosta* 'Sum and Substance' or ferns. The blue-green scapes, ranging from 32 to 46 inches (81.3 to 116.8 cm) high, carry flowers that complement the foliage.

Care Notes
