Overview
Registered in 2009 by an unknown breeder, *Hosta* 'I Got Rhythm' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its ovate, moderately corrugated leaves of medium green with pale yellow, slightly rippled margins. The leaf margins are approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, and the leaf surface is dull on both top and bottom, with 12 pairs of veins.
In the Garden
With a mature spread of 36 inches (91.4 cm) and height of 22 inches (55.9 cm), 'I Got Rhythm' forms a dense, mound-like clump suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its moderate growth rate and compact habit make it appropriate for border fronts, woodland gardens, or shaded beds, where its yellow-edged foliage provides contrast against darker-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*.
Care Notes
Plant in moist, well-drained soil and water regularly during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as needed.
