Hosta "Grand Prize" review
A sport of 'Grand Tiara' with the same heavy substance, but with a lighter margin, pale yellow turning creamy white in summer. Purple flowers. This one is a sport of Hosta 'Grand Tiara' and has medium green leaves with bright gold margins that change to white as the season progresses. Good substance and nice purple flowers. This superb tetraploid sport of Hosta 'Grand Tiara' is the latest and greatest of the Tiara group. With the same excellent vigor and compact growth habit of its parent, Hosta 'Grand Prize' boasts a very wide gold margin that quickly brightens to a creamy white. This dazzling clump is a "must" in all shade gardens. In midsummer, the 2' wide clumps are topped with 2' tall spikes of dark lavender flowers!
