Hosta ‘Gold Glory’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered1995
Section classIII-3

Overview

Registered in 1995, this medium-sized hosta originated as a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Paul's Glory'. Its distinguishing feature is the green leaf blade with wide, yellow-gold margins that are slightly rippled, creating a bright, variegated appearance.

In the Garden

'Gold Glory' forms an open, mound-like clump reaching 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, where the gold margins remain vibrant without scorching. The 9-inch (22.9 cm) leaves with cordate bases and 11 to 12 vein pairs pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
