Overview
Registered in 1996, this medium-sized hosta cultivar resulted from a cross between *Hosta* 'Royal Standard' (seed parent) and *Hosta* 'Galaxy' (pollen parent). Its distinctive foliage presents blue-green leaves with yellow-gold margins, the leaf surface dull above with a glaucous bloom beneath.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height, with a slow, stoloniferous growth habit. The leaves measure 8 inches (20.3 cm) long by 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) wide, with 12 to 14 vein pairs and a cordate base. Chartreuse scapes rise 26 to 33 inches (66.0 to 83.8 cm) above the foliage. This cultivar performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, this cultivar may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
