Overview
Registered in 1999, 'Fantabulous' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar derived from a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Fascinator'. It is visually distinguished by its dark green leaves with broad, creamy white margins that are slightly rippled, combined with a very shiny undersurface and cordate leaf bases.
In the Garden
'Fantabulous' forms an upright clump reaching 26 inches (66.0 cm) in height and 38 inches (96.5 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in woodland gardens. Its medium size and bold variegation make it an effective companion for ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
