Registered in 1996 by originator N. Hylander and registrant P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Ellerbroek' is a medium-sized cultivar selected from *H. fortunei* 'Aureomarginata'. It is visually distinctive for its dark green leaves with a 1.3 cm wide, yellow, slightly rippled margin, and a rounded leaf base.

'H Ellerbroek' forms a mound-like clump reaching 38.1 cm in height and 86.4 cm in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts or woodland garden settings, though it is not typically recommended for container culture due to its mature spread.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
