Overview
Registered in 1996, this medium-sized hosta cultivar produces a dense, fast-growing mound of dark green leaves with narrow gold margins. The foliage is distinguished by its very shiny upper and lower surfaces and slightly rippled leaf edges.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 28 inches (71 cm) in diameter and 14 inches (36 cm) in height, forming a rounded, mound-like habit. This hosta performs best in partial to full shade, as typical for the genus, and its gold-margined leaves provide subtle contrast in shaded borders or woodland gardens. The compact size makes it suitable for the front of a mixed perennial border or as an edging plant along paths.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate cultural or deterrent methods.
