Overview
Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Dream Angel' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinguished by its chartreuse spring foliage that matures to intense golden yellow, with each leaf bearing a slightly rippled golden yellow margin; the leaves are broadly ovate, deeply cupped, and deeply corrugated, with a slightly shiny upper surface and dull underside.
In the Garden
'Dream Angel' forms a dense, slow-growing mound 14 inches (35.6 cm) tall and 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in partial to full shade. Its golden foliage pairs well with dark-leaved heucheras or blue-green hostas, and the 18- to 26-inch (45.7–66.0 cm) golden scapes bearing whorled, simultaneously blooming flowers add vertical interest. It is not recommended for containers due to its medium size and slow growth.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Typical hosta-growing zones apply; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed with appropriate barriers or repellents.
