Overview

Registered in 2003 by P. & J. Ruh, this medium-sized hosta is a selfed sport of *Hosta* 'Sunlight Sister'. It forms a dense, flat mound of ovate leaves with green centers and yellow-gold margins that are slightly rippled. The leaf blades are moderately cupped and twisted, with deep wavy edges, light folding, and light corrugation; the surface is dull on both sides.

In the Garden

*Hosta* 'Little Sister' reaches 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) in height and spreads to 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the gold margins remain distinct without scorching. Its compact, mound-like habit suits the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings, and it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and small woodland perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The leaves have good substance, offering moderate resistance to slugs, though standard slug control may still be necessary in damp conditions.
