Registered in 1990 by E. Smith and P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Dorset Charm' is a small-sized cultivar derived from the *Hosta* Tardiana Group. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with narrow, pale margins and its compact, mounded habit.

In the Garden

'Dorset Charm' reaches approximately 9 inches (22.9 cm) in height and 15 inches (38.1 cm) in diameter, making it well-suited for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or woodland edges. It thrives in partial to full shade and pairs effectively with other small hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant perennials such as *Heuchera* and *Tiarella*. Its small stature also makes it a suitable candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
