Overview

Registered in 2005 by P. & J. Ruh, this miniature cultivar derives from *Hosta* 'Buckshaw Blue' as seed parent. 'Devon Mist' is distinguished by its small, lance-shaped leaves with medium green centers and flat margins, forming a compact, mound-like plant with a moderate growth rate.

In the Garden

Reaching approximately 7.5 inches (19.1 cm) in height and 9 inches (22.9 cm) in diameter, 'Devon Mist' is suitable for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its miniature size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with other small perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor regularly and employ barriers or repellents as needed.
