Overview

Registered in 2010, *Hosta* 'Cosmic Lady' is a small-sized cultivar resulting from the cross (*H.* 'Rosedale Shady Lady' × *H.* 'Cosmic Hippie') pollinated by *H.* 'Green Quarter'. It is visually distinctive for its nearly round, medium green leaves with streaked greenish-white to creamy white flat margins, combined with a compact, upright habit.

In the Garden

With a mature diameter of approximately 22 inches (55.9 cm) and height of 13.5 inches (34.3 cm), 'Cosmic Lady' is well suited to the front of a shaded border, rock garden, or container. Its moderate growth rate and small stature make it appropriate for small-space gardens. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and pairs well with other small perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or miniature hostas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, especially in shaded, moist locations.
