Hosta "Blue Lightning" review
From the huge and fertile fields and greenhouses at Walters Gardens comes this exciting new intro. Destined to be offered only in very limited quantities, this is the unstable streaked form of last year's hot new sport of 'Blue Umbrellas' called 'Dancin' in the Rain'. 'Blue Umbrellas' was always a great plant in all ways but one - it just wasn't that pretty! 'Dancin...' added a white center and now it's almost too pretty! The streaked form hasn't set seed yet, but we expect it to have the excellent fertility of the parent, which will make it a great pod parent for the hybridizing crowd. The strong growth and fairly stable (for a streaked plant that is) variegation also make this a fine addition for the serious collector.
