Overview
Registered in 1996, *Hosta* 'Wizard's Turban' is a miniature cultivar derived from the cross *H*. 'Galaxy' × *H*. 'Wahoo'. Its most distinctive visual feature is the narrow, creamy white leaf margins that contrast sharply with the light green, slightly rippled leaf centers, all borne on a compact, mound-like plant.
In the Garden
This miniature hosta reaches a mature diameter of 13 inches (33.0 cm) and a height of 6 inches (15.2 cm), making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or trough plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for the genus, and pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its slow growth rate and small size make it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in gardens where these pests are prevalent.
