H. ‘Super Streak’

Overview

Registered in 1982 by K. Vaughn, 'Super Streak' is a small hosta cultivar derived from two variegated hybrid parents. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with white margins and a compact, low-growing habit.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches approximately 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter at maturity, making it suitable for the front of shaded borders or rock gardens. It thrives in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and pairs well with other small woodland perennials such as ferns or heucheras. Its compact size also makes it an appropriate choice for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly in moist, shaded conditions.
