Registered in 2010 by P. & J. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Show Off' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its ovate, lightly cupped leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins and a very shiny underside, forming a compact, mound-like clump.

In the Garden

'Show Off' reaches approximately 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and 23 inches (58.4 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is well-suited for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, where its small size and dense habit make it an effective groundcover or edging plant. The cultivar's compact dimensions also render it suitable for container cultivation, and it pairs well with other small shade perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents.
