Overview

Registered in 2014 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Little Tuft', 'Green Bag' is a small, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its variegated foliage. The leaves are lance-shaped with tapered bases, green flat margins, and a dull, lightly corrugated surface on both sides, reaching 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) in length and 3.125 inches (7.9 cm) in width.

In the Garden

'Green Bag' forms an upright mound 12 inches (30.5 cm) tall and 15.75 inches (40.0 cm) wide, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging in partial to full shade. Its compact size and fast growth rate also recommend it for container cultivation. Companion plants might include small ferns, *Heuchera* cultivars, or other miniature hostas that share similar light and moisture requirements.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Green Bag' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in gardens where these pests are prevalent.
