Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Geisha' registered in 2008 by Sunrise Greenhouse, 'S.S. Geisha' is a small hosta distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins that exhibit variable green streaking. The foliage is ovate with rounded bases, lightly twisted and wavy, and bears six vein pairs; leaf surfaces are slightly shiny above and below.

In the Garden

Reaching 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter, this cultivar forms an upright mound with moderate growth. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or other small woodland perennials. Its compact size makes it appropriate for containers or front-of-border positions.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed.
