Overview

Registered in 2010 by R. Kuenster, *Hosta* 'Run Around' is a small, mound-forming cultivar of unknown parentage. Its variegated leaves feature green margins with a slightly shiny upper surface, and the petioles are notably speckled with red.

In the Garden

'Run Around' reaches a mature diameter of 14.5 inches (36.8 cm) and a height of 10 inches (25.4 cm), with a moderate growth rate. It is suited to partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and performs well in the front of borders, rock gardens, or as a groundcover in small spaces. Its compact size and flowing leaf habit make it an appropriate choice for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitoring and protective measures are advisable where these pests are prevalent.
