Registered in 1985 by M. Zilis and T&Z Nursery, *Hosta* 'May T. Watts' is a giant sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Sunburst'. It is visually distinctive for its large, heavily textured green leaves with wide, yellow-white margins, forming a substantial mound.

In the Garden

'May T. Watts' reaches a mature size of 24 inches (61 cm) in height and 60 inches (152 cm) in diameter, making it suitable as a bold specimen or background plant in partial to full shade. Its large leaves and substantial presence pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. It is not suited for container cultivation due to its giant size.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most large-leaved hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage.
