Registered in 1988 by R. Savory, this small hosta cultivar is a selfed hybrid of *Hosta* 'Aspen Gold'. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with white margins, a color pattern that contrasts with the typical gold foliage of its parent.

'Hosta 'Limelight' reaches a mature size of approximately 11 inches (27.9 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings.
