Overview
'Lean on Me' is a sport of 'Willy Nilly' and was registered in 2008. Its leaf is 16 in by 12 in with 19 to 20 veins, moderately corrugated, with a greenish yellow center and a medium blue-green margin 2 to 4 in wide. The seasonal note describes the center as lutescent, meaning it brightens to golden yellow as the season goes on. The registration lists near-white bell-shaped flowers in July from a clump in Aylmer, Ontario.

The registered clump is upright, 60 in across and 29 in high, with a moderate growth rate. Its green scapes are registered at 29 to 34 in.
How it compares
'Willy Nilly' is the sport parent, and in this case the sport is the larger plant on record. 'Willy Nilly' is a gray-green upright of 18 in high and 29 in across with an 11 in by 8.25 in leaf. Its growth rate is listed as slow, against moderate here.
'Thunderbolt' has the same layout of a yellow-green center and blue-green margin, with a wider band of 3 to 5 in. The difference shows late in the season: its center fades almost to white on older leaves, while the center of 'Lean on Me' moves toward golden yellow.
'Continental Divide' is registered at 26 in high and 52 in across, with a light green to chartreuse center and a dark green margin of 2 to 3 in. It forms a mound, not an upright clump, and its margin is green rather than blue.
