Overview

Registered in 2006, *Hosta* 'Lakeside Toy Treasure' is a miniature cultivar derived from a cross between *H. 'Tsugara Komachi'* and an unnamed seedling. Its primary visual distinction lies in the combination of medium green, lance-shaped leaves with flat white margins, a compact mound-like habit, and a relatively fast growth rate for its size class.

In the Garden

This miniature hosta reaches approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, forming a dense, low mound. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its white leaf margins remain most distinct. Given its small stature, it is well suited for troughs, containers, and the front of shaded borders, where it can be paired with other diminutive perennials such as small ferns or *Heuchera*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
