Overview
Registered in 2005 by P. & J. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Geissler's Edge' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage distinguished by its flat-growing mound of small, elliptic leaves. The medium green blades are edged with a very narrow (0.1 to 0.2 cm), flat white margin, and the petioles bear a thin white hairline.
In the Garden
'Geissler's Edge' forms a compact, slow-growing mound reaching 7 inches (17.8 cm) in height and 14.5 inches (36.8 cm) in diameter. Its miniature size and flat growth habit make it well suited for troughs, containers, or the front of a shaded border. It pairs effectively with other small hostas, miniature ferns, or fine-textured groundcovers in partial to full shade.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in containers. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur, though the small leaf size may reduce attractiveness to deer.
