Overview

Registered in 1998 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Ninita', 'Lakeside Lime Time' is a small, fast-growing hosta distinguished by its variegated leaves with light green, slightly rippled margins and a flat base. The leaves are dull on both surfaces, measure 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) long by 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide, and bear six pairs of veins.

In the Garden

This compact cultivar forms a mound 5 inches (12.7 cm) tall and 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, making it well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs effectively with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature perennials. Its fast growth rate allows it to fill space quickly in shaded areas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed.
