Overview

Registered in 1999 by New Zealand breeder F. Jury, this medium-sized cultivar forms a mound of green leaves with golden yellow, moderately rippled margins. The leaves are dull on both surfaces, with nine pairs of veins and a rounded base, reaching 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in length and 5 inches (12.7 cm) in width.

In the Garden

Mature plants reach 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial shade to filtered sun, where the gold margins maintain their color without scorching. Suitable for the middle of a mixed border or as a specimen in a shade garden, it pairs well with ferns and other medium-sized hostas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate controls may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
