Registered in 1999 from unknown parentage, 'June Dove' is a large hosta distinguished by its blue-green leaves with wide, light green, slightly rippled margins. The foliage measures 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) long and 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) wide, with 14 vein pairs, a cordate base, and a slightly shiny upper surface contrasting with a dull underside.

In the Garden

Reaching 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 40 inches (101.6 cm) in diameter with an upright habit and moderate growth rate, 'June Dove' performs best in partial to full shade typical of hosta-growing zones. Its substantial size makes it suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders alongside ferns, astilbes, and other woodland perennials. The blue-green leaf color with light green margins provides subtle contrast in shaded settings.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as with most large-leaved hostas.
