Registered in 2009, *Hosta* 'Groomsman' is a small variegated cultivar derived from *Hosta* 'Best Man' as the pod parent, with an unknown pollen parent. It is distinguished by its upright, mound-like habit and medium green leaves with serrated margins, forming a compact plant 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall and 21 inches (53.3 cm) in diameter.

In the Garden

'Groomsman' performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, where its moderate growth rate produces a tidy mound suitable for the front of borders or rock gardens. Its small size and serrated, wavy leaves make it an effective groundcover beneath deciduous trees or alongside other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. The plant is well-suited for container cultivation due to its compact dimensions.
